A Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement processes for the Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA) GPO, which helps member organizations achieve cost savings through bulk purchasing. The GPO Manager plays a strategic role in driving procurement efficiencies and member satisfaction, ensuring the organization maximizes the benefits of group purchasing.
Scope of Work:
Assist with identifying and building relationships with potential service/product vendors;
Maintain and strengthen relationships with key vendors, addressing issues and identifying opportunities to improve terms.
Negotiate contracts with vendors that express interest with joining GPO;
Act as the primary point of contact for GPO members, providing updates on new contracts, product availability, and savings opportunities.
Develop and manage the GPO’s operational budget, tracking costs against savings generated for members.
Produce regular reports summarizing contract savings, usage data, and performance metrics for internal stakeholders and GPO members.
Educate new members on the GPO’s procurement processes, contract terms, and benefits of participation, and conduct periodic training sessions for existing members.
Solicit sponsorship from GPO vendors and other service/product vendors for Annual Conference, other VCHA conferences/summits
Monitor compliance of vendor contracts to ensure accurate and timely payments from vendors to VCHA.
Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA) is a non-profit membership organization that serves as the primary care association for Virginia’s thirty community health centers and look-alike health centers. Membership in VCHA is open to all Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alikes operating delivery sites in Virginia. VCHA supports our health centers in their mission to provide access to health care regardless of geographic location or ability to pay.
