Perform clinical dental services – Emergency care, Diagnostic-examination of hard and soft tissue, x-rays, occlusal analysis & oral cancer screenings, Development and implementation of treatment plans, Restorations, Extractions, Fluoride Treatments and sealants, Simple endodontic and periodontal procedures
Administers oral hygiene education in conjunction with the oral hygienist and dental assistants
Responds to inquiries by patients and staff on dental health and treatments
Directs professional and auxiliary staff during treatment of clients
Recommends patient referrals for specialized treatment and oral surgery
Safety compliance; abide by dental office infection control plan to meet compliance with OSHA, ADAA and CDC standards
Instrument cleaning, sterilization/disinfection and recirculation
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Graduate of accredited Dental Program – DDS or DMD
Current licensure with the Virginia Board of Dentistry
Current DEA and DPS Registrations for Prescription authorization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Excellent computer proficiency – (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook) Dental Electronic Records
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Must be able to type, walk, stoop, sit, bend, stand
